2018-2019 pretty served as me refining my art style, and trying to improve my drawing speed and overall sense of anatomy. 2018-2019 is, without question, my greatest show of improvement since 2016.
However, I eventually settled for a bunny rabbit themed design, because I feel it best captures Lucy's character and how she fits in with the other characters. Plus it's the best one that I can get away with giving her regularly colored skin.
-things, but still keeping them, for the most part, human. I deliberated for a bit on deciding what animal Lucy should be based off of. Ideas included a frog, cow, sheep, and dalamation or other type of dog. The longest lasting idea that stuck for a bit was a deer/fawn.
Around the end of 2016, I wanted to work on my consistency, as one of my biggest struggles at the time was keeping my characters consistent. Lucy was definitely one of the hardest to do this with, mostly due to the shape of her hair, which I got too attached to to change.
I actually didn't draw Lucy much in 2015, mostly due to a art project I was doing for my senior year in high school. But in the summer, I got a Surface Book as a graduation gift, so I decided to break in the new tech by updating Lucy's design.
Here's a few more 2014 Lucys. This is what I like to call "Classic Lucy." This design of Lucy, mainly the shirt design and the hair, stayed mosty consistent up until 2015.
More new style tests with Penny and Mildred, along with some small design tweaks
I've crawled back from the depths in time for the new year/decade!
I'm experimenting with a new style and using Domino as a dummy.
@michebluedragon Hey! The name's Rublitz. I do mostly character illustrations, but I've delved into graphic design from time to time.
