Abd al-Rahman III (890-961)
Was the Emir of Córdoba from 912 to 929, later serving as its first caliph from 929 to his death. He won the epithet 'Defender of God's Faith' for supporting the Maghrawa. His rule was known for its religious tolerance and cultural florishment

Domingos Jorge Velho (1641-1705)
Was a notorious brazilian pioneer (Bandeirante) and infamous hunter of natives and fugitive slaves, in 1694 he led the troops that destroyed Quilombo of Palmares (a community of escaped slaves). He also founded a couple of settlements in Paraíba
Gorm the Old (c.890s-858 or 864)
Also called Gorm the Languid, was the first acknowledged king of Denmark, from c. 936 to his death, after uniting most of the petty danish fiefdoms . He ruled from Jelling, and made the oldest of the Jelling Stones in honour of his wife Thyra.

John Brown (1800-1859)
Was an American abolitionist who reached prominence for his radical abolitionism and for fighting in Bleeding Kansas, he was eventually captured and executed for a failed incitement of a slave rebellion at Harpers Ferry preceding the American Civil War.
