Day 2058: Pondering Shading! I tried adding in some shading. I'm a lil torn on the results, I'm not sure how happy I am with them in the end. Still, I think it moved the image for a bit. I think relying on flat values is as important to me as figuring out lighting, for now.
Day 2045: Cold Final! Not too much changed for the final pass, but I'm really happy with this! There are still some stylistic struggles I have, but all in all things feel more steady for me! I think if I can keep this up I can start to produce even more fun results soon!
Day 2044: Cold Tweaks! I went back, found a reference to use to compare to my current proportions to try and fix them up a bit and I think I made it a little better! Overall, I'm pretty happy with how this is looking. The last stretch will just be a few more tweaks to finish it!
Day 2014: Cocky Final! The last day of this study. I had fun working on this! While I was working on I though, I think I've realized a few things. I need to use a bigger canvas, and I think I really am not a fan of rendering anymore. Going to stick with more line art styles now.
Day 2012: Cocky Flats! I'm really happy with the progress on this tonight! I'm still a lil unsure about some of the colors, and the design of the jacket but overall this is on the right track! Going to dig into some rendering for the next one, and I'm excited to try it!
Day 1982: Kiss! A rough result tonight. I knew it was a bit ambitious but I wanted to try and do something for Valentine's Day. Not a great result, you can't really tell it's Ashe and Tyler but I'm glad I attempted it at least. Helped me see some more things I need to work on!
Day 1981: Confidence! This study was a bit rough, but I liked the charm it had in the end. It feels good to get back into some value painting after a break from it. I think my art future still lies with animation and sketching and I need to explore less realism finally.
Day 1948: Ashe! Tonight's study was interesting! I did this mostly from scratch! I did check it against a proportion chart to double check some things, but overall it was pretty much from imagination! A definitely improvement from old attempts! I'm actually learning!
Day 1947: Hoodie! I really liked tonight's study, a lot. A lot of the process was just working for me! These portraits have become a lot more fun for me to work on, and I think I'm slowly finding a pace I like with them! I'm going to have to keep it up and keep pushing on! :D
Day 1940: Neat! Tonight's result was really satisfying to do! The proportions were *mostly* correct when I checked them first, and the lines were working out. Overall, if I could get comfortable with faces to this level I'd be content! Which is clear steps in the right direction!
