Does this picture trigger anyone else’s abandonment issues, or is that just me?
Just sharing this pic I found on the internet in case it brightens anyone else's day the way it did mine...
@WriteStuff19 Good question! Let’s go with my first book, The Purple Bird. My titular character’s name is Archit, which is a name that just came naturally to me. His human companion (my POV character) is named James—my middle name, because he’s based on a 15-year-old version of me. #writestuff
I want to thank E.B. White for turning me into a vegan and an insufferable grammarian. Those are two categories of people that the whole world loves, so rock on. 🤘🏼
Me: Why is The Wiz trending on Twitter?
Also me: You know what? Why shouldn't The Wiz be trending on Twitter? Do we need a reason? NO. I love The Wiz, whether on stage or on screen, and it should always be trending on Twitter as far as I'm concerned.
@DuskaDoesArt I spoke at a writers conference last spring and a student in my presentation went and got my book afterward and sent me some really cool graphics she designed of my main characters. That was the moment I really felt like I’d made it as an author.
#ShamelessSelfpromoSaturday confession: I’ve never been much of an artist, but as I was writing The Purple Bird, I liked to surround myself with pics of my characters and scenes to help inspire me. Anyone else do that?
I occasionally share these on Instagram (@DylanIsWriting)
I received fan art! At the writers conference last weekend, I met a student who attended my presentation. She read my book and just sent me these excellent drawings.
