The red knights are based on an image I found of a British cavalry officer in 1745 (later the 4th Irish Horse, then the 7th Dragoon Guards.) I think they came out really well!

In the mean time, I've added two new pawns. Here's Glimmer, who was a last minute commission, and Lake, who I picked by spinning a wheel.

Lake, I'm sure you can tell, was absolutely the hardest and took me eleven hours.

So I went for grey brick for the White rooks and brown for the Reds. I was tempted to put Fleur-de-lys and Union flags on them but I decided to keep it generic.

These are a bit more complex than the White (French) ones, but I've always liked the aesthetic of this period of British uniforms, so it was quite fun.

For the Red side, I went with a British look from about the 1740s - about the time of the War of the Austrian Succession and the '45 Jacobite Rising.
