St. Hubert's Priory once sat on the grounds of Marble Hill, believed to be constructed by wood and designed by Richard Bentley. St. Hubert’s Priory was dedicated to the patron saint of hunting (St. Hubert’s). It was demolished following the death of Henrietta in 1767.

Alexander Pope commissioned this portrait of Henrietta, she was 35 when it was painted. It was later given to Horace Walpole, who displayed it at Strawberry Hill.

Following Henrietta Howard's death Marble Hill was let to a succession of tenants. Among them was the controversial figure Mrs Fitzherbert who, in a ceremony deemed illegal in British law, had married the Prince of Wales (later George IV) in 1785: https://t.co/WxZKIemjG6
