Vaclau Cutta's cover art for a 1927 Czech edition of #ERB's THE GODS OF MARS (left below) copied but significantly improved the original Schoonover cover. This was Schoonover's second and last cover for a Burroughs book.

100 years ago today, A. C. McClurg issued the first edition of #ERB's THE GODS OF MARS, which featured dust-jacket and frontispiece art by Frank E. Schoonover.
This is the second book in the Barsoom series and many fans consider it the best.
