So on top of the lobopodian-like sclerites, we have paired stubby things underneath these worms - just as lobopodians have walking legs attached under their sclerites. Here's a 3D reconstruction of the little stubs underneath the sclerites of Tabelliscolex:
4. A throughly impressive pierid all over the lavender garden, the Lemon Migrant (Catopsilia pomona). Great name, lovely butterfly.
Filled with dread from the harsh Cornish winter, I am very happy indeed to be off to the City of Eternal Spring for another Chengjiangy trip!
Thought I would share these beautiful oil paintings from one of the older Chinese language Chengjiang books (Chen & Zhou 1997 "Biology of the Chengjiang Fauna"). Guessing they might be new to a few people!

@Tbullimore1 Buddleia has long floppy flowers like this, mine is something very similar but different according to iNaturalist (which is a sick app m8)
Was thrilled to see more lizards today in Lane Cove National Park. Not sure what the skink species is, but the agamids are Australian water dragons for sure! Fingers crossed for a monitor lizard/goanna next time.
