Watched Tori no Uta about a week ago and I thought it was great. Would be interested in reading some analysis on it but I can't seem to find any. I think a lot of it is very interpretative but I do think there is a solid core message/idea. And of course being an art...

Despite Yamada Noako being a very talented director I can't help feel really frustrated with her works. All of them are very good but each have just 1 or 2 main issues that hold it back from being great. ASVs undeveloped side cast, Heike and Liz having extreme pacing issues etc.

Started watching Moriarty the Patriot. First four epsiodes have been a bit weird, the character designs are jarring as hell and the art is fairly generic. I expected a bit more from Production IG but the series still has lots of potential with it's narrative.

Starting this up now that it's finished airing. Expectations aren't super high but I am expecting some decent production at least.

Finding tragedy through your ambition. Every story in Aoi Bungaku follows that idea and Jacopo embodies it as well. Both are fantastic works so if you like one of these I highly recommend checking out the other.

A little late but Happy Birthday to Masaaki Yuasa, one of the mediums best directors with an endless sense creativity.

I have no issues with MAPPA using still frames in AoT, especially for a scene like this. The real issue comes when your still frames look like shit. It was done in the cheapest way possible and leaves no impact on the viewer. Absolutely souless.

Ordering my favorites honestly feels so pointless when I think about how much great stuff I still havent seen. Like Monster and LOGH are almost guaranteed to be high favorites and I still havent touched almost anything from Osamu Dezaki.
