Misinformed, ChiChi thinks Goku agreed to Piccolo training their son. For a year, ChiChi thinks this knowing Piccolo did this 5 years earlier. Some will say, ChiChi should’ve known they were lying but why should ChiChi think Goku’s friends are lying?

ChiChi's shocked by what happened. Ox King asking what Goku is doing during this means Roshi didn’t tell what happen in the order it did because Goku died unaware Piccolo took his son. Roshi says, “He’s dying,” implies Goku knew Piccolo took Gohan but they knew he didn't.

After a night of no news, ChiChi confronts Goku’s friends. Had they told the truth instead of leaving her to wait and worry all night, ChiChi wouldn’t be angry with Goku. It’s cold hearted to leave a wife and mother to worry all night for her family when you know the truth.

ChiChi meets Yamcha, Roshi and Bulma as a kid. They meet again when ChiChi is an adult. They are confused but understand ChiChi’s anger at Goku when it’s revealed why. After the tournament, Goku and ChiChi happily leave together. They are not seen for five years.

I thought Marron standing with ChiChi meant ChiChi and 18 became friends and ChiChi was being a BFF watching her friend's child while her parents compete.
