I know what I liked as a child, and I don't do any book that I, as a child, wouldn't have liked.
- H.A. Rey, writer & illustrator who created Curious George with his wife Margret, was born #OTD in 1898. They fled Nazi Germany with the manuscript for Curious George with them.
As someone who adores Alice in Wonderland, I would love to see an edition that has illustrations by @lunartcy19
Robert McCloskey, author & illustrator of books like Make Way for Ducklings & Blueberries for Sal, was born #OTD in 1914. He won two Caldecott Medals. McCloskey said that he got tons of letters from folks around the world sending him photos of ducks crossing a street.
