Along with writing, painting was one of the creative outlets for Zelda Fitzgerald during periods when she was receiving treatments for depression & mania. One of her favorite subjects to paint was Alice in Wonderland.
As a boy, the artist Walter Crane enjoyed decorating his books with watercolor illustrations. When his father, portrait artist, Thomas Crane saw this. He did not punish the boy but introduced him to William James Linton, the head of one of the best printing & engraving companies.
German illustrator Sonja Danowski says her work focuses on preserving the memories of childhood.
