@JohnPA598 One show, I simply must recommend is Gankutsuou, it's a sci-fi adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo, it's not super action packed, but it's unique visuals are an absolute feast for the eyes.
You might also get some enjoyment out of Baccano! which is also pretty solid.
