Despite some villains feeling a bit lackluster at times or just under explored, Kubo will just hit the nail so hard with some and make sure you never forget about them. There's a reason Bleach has some of the most iconic villains.
This thematically ties into his lineage well so it wasn't just Kubo making him a chosen one or making it for the sake of having his protagonist have cool powers. Every arc was like peeling a new layer off of his character and it really set up some absolutely fantastic dynamics.
Outside of a few lame moments here and there that's really all the negative I have to say about the story. The rest of the story is good to excellent as Kubo sure as hell knows how to make a reader have fun and it's no wonder Bleach is beloved.
