Another entry for #AtlantisBestiary. Mine are cartoonishly bad but these are pretty fun to make. I think I have one more entry for phase 1 after this. Atlantis needs fish!!!

Next entry for phase 1 of the #AtlantisBestiary. Pretty much ecologically identical to modern paddlefish just tiny, schooling, and paddle-less. (My second attempt at a shad-like color scheme. While I like this quality better I think it looks too much like a tuna...)

First and perhaps most obvious, is the sheer size of Tylosaurus. Large specimens of T. proriger likely grew to be 40 to 50 feet in length, easily making it one of the largest mosasaur species to ever live.

Another sarcopterygian for day 2 of #FossilFishWeek! Here we have the lumpy, I mean lovely, Foreyia from the Triassic of Switzerland. This fintastic fossil highlights how a few slight changes to even just one gene may lead to a cascade of unique morphologic features!
