The blades do help with the cutting process, but are more culturally important than tactically, resembling the same shapes as the user's horns, plain Verinauvian cybernetics without their "horn shaped blades" are looked down upon.

Mej's race, the Verinauvans, hold some of the most sturdy and strong cybernetics of any alien race, while lacking in systems or function, they hold great strength, being able to carry, cut, or break most basic material with ease.
