@LilMissHyena It's random. Often it suppresses higher brain functions but in rare cases, it improves infected brains. The gal to the left can project her own emotions around her and the guy to the right can concentrate on three different thought trains simultaneously and independently.
@Kapuchu1 They get mutated too, just like any other living being coming in contact with the infection. And since they're carnivores they're especially vulnerable to that.
How about a #worldbuilding thread?
What would you like to know about the mutating world Lydia has to live in?
Feel free to ask any questions about it, and I'll try to give a detailed answer.

@ClassicSpace101 @Ddontay_y Huh. That will be difficult because most of it is still a work in progress. But in short, it's an apocalyptic story set in a world filled with mutated monsters. Most of them are feral, but few are still sane and basically whoever they were before they got infected.

Lydia quickly jumping in and out of a dune buggy.
@mariojuggernaut She was bitten by a wounded mutated deer and got infected with the same infection that turned many other living beings into monsters. She was just lucky to have her brain intact after the infection changed her.
