On this day, 264 yrs ago, prominent Ukrainian portrait painter Volodymyr Borovyk was born in Myrhorod (Poltava Oblast, Central Ukraine).

His works grace the walls in Louvre Museum.

On 7 July 1904, a prominent Ukrainian artist, an academician at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome Mykhaylo Moroz was born (1904-1992).

His works grace the offices of the US President, Canada's PM, and the chamber of Josyf Slipyi, a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Today, Ukrainian writer Vladyslav Yerko celebrates his 59th Birthday.

He is famous for illustrating the works of W. Shakespeare, L. Carroll, P. Coelho, C. Castaneda, Ukrainian folk tales etc. "The Snow Queen" illustrated by Yerko was named the best children's book in 2006 in US.

On 22 June 1926, 95 years ago, a prominent Ukrainian graphic artist and pedagog Oleksandr Danchenko was born.

He created easel and book graphic works. Oleksandr Danchenko's masterpieces became popular not only in Ukraine but also globally.
