@webcomicchat I worked as a children's book illustrator for a while, so I had to learn how to draw kids. Which is not an easy task, I have seen how many comic artists fail in the intent by tryin' to make them very adult like #WebComicChat

@webcomicchat I use photos for reference, although there are colors/ features that look good in real life but not so much in comics (Like outlining teeth for example) I like taking a color skin sample from a photo, apply it to a comic character and then I just adjust levels #WebComicChat

@comicartistchat My reference is usually past drawings where the same characters or similar ones appeared. Like, a palette is created once I have colored an scene in advance, I use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop, to copy previous skin tones, uniforms, I have colored before #ComicArtistsUnite

@comicartistchat Sure. I remember years ago when I colored with color pencils, trying to learn how to make brightness spots with them. With digital tools is way easier. Shadowing, you always have to imagine, where the light comes from. Gives character to a scene #ComicArtistsUnite

@webcomicchat #Webcomicchat I've learned a lot about mingling with webcomic artists here. Although I have sold short comic strips and have illustrated books for clients, I'm more of a designer that writes/draws. That being said I feel I am some sort of "hybrid" creature, it's great to be here!
