I love when comic book couples are just insanely obsessed with one another. Need more of that in comics.
Ultimatum was a terrible event, but the Spider-Man issues were mostly amazing and gave us one of JJJ’s best moments.
I said it once and I'll say it again and again and again: Ultimate Clone Saga is one of, if not THE best Spider-Man story ever put to print. It's non-stop, perfectly paced, emotional, funny, heartbreaking, years of build up coming together for this one masterpiece. Amazing.
RIP to my second favorite Ultimate Clone, but it was worth it for this kickass reveal. Ultimate Doc Ock is a full blown MENACE.
Hot-take: Ever since New52 the most interesting thing DC has managed to do with Lex Luthor is make him a hero and he should've stayed one for longer🤧
Still think the weirdest thing New52 did to Supergirl was making her a clone racist.
Something I think No Way Home and Spider-Man PS4 miss the mark on is J Jonah Jameson. I think those adaptations actually view JJJ as a BAD bad guy which is why they Alex Jones’s him up. I think Ultimate Spider-Man had a much better understanding in its adaptation.
Now on to the volume that got me into this series in the first place 😌
Anyway if you want a great deconstruction of Punisher (and Batman) as a modern character definitely read Lemire's Black Hammer spin-off, Skulldigger + Skeleton Boy.
