So I hope Scarlet and Violet incorporate that pre-X/Y pattern of having the main trio, and then a bunch of smaller legendaries to encounter through free-roaming gameplay, not set-upon you by story quests.

Penny and Melli really only have eye shape, but Pokémon repeats eye shapes all the time, so that doesn’t actually mean anything.

Only problem is she doesn’t share very many concrete features with Melli. Lian and Clay also have an age difference, but there are distinct monikers that show they’re related (hair texture, obvious hat, relationship with the ground/minerals).

I personally don’t think we’re gonna see any descendants of the non-ancestor characters in S/V, however, I do subscribe to the fanon that Penny is Melli’s descendant. Eye/lashes are the same shape, same eye colour, red+blue=purple. So it has some merit that I can accept.

I’m not saying we’re going to Kalos, that would be much too ambitious for the first open world Pokemon game, but the last time two regions were directly connected to each other, we did get to explore them together.

BUT, I think it’s fair to point out that Paldea and Kalos are definitely geographically linked, when taking into account their real-life counterparts.
