Let's begin with the most well known...okay none of princess Ai is well known this is just going to be a weird unique look at it. Most people who commented were shocked this existed at all.
*So Exalted Speed what long thread on a esoteric subject do you have today?
Well this is a direct sequel to my Van Von Hunter thread about the other project by Tokyopop to expand their brand Princess Ai, a manga created written by Courtney Love...and Stu levi.
The creator have moved on though, right now they made a visual novel Errant Heart and so far seem to be gone for the most part, maybe I will track them down myself later. I'm not sure if they own Van Von Hunter but you can buy it on comixology.
Tokyopop is still around they 145k subs, and right now don't have a major manga that I can think has hype. The Van Von Hunter creator where also treated better then a lot of other creators, and I do mean a lot there sins as a company tick me the fuck off.
Basically the contract worked like this not only did the creator own part of it but so did Tokyopop, and this is bad for a number of reasons, ONE if a creator wants to finish or continue it they Tokyopop to sign off it, or FOR ANY OTHER USE OF IT.
and that is Kim Reaper a waste of perfect fine paper, oh well will I ever find a comic by Sarah I like? Well no she's making a minecraft comic about bullying and that looks cringe as fuck, also as a favor to someone I know, instead of reading her book glitch watch Glitch Techs.
and that's it, is this the worst comic ever? Well no, but is it bad to me yeah. I think the reason I tear into a comic like this is because to me it feels like I'm looking at something that could be decent, but Sarah is not talented enough for it in my opinion.
Anyway Kim's evil boss and her end up in hell and Becka goes to save them. Why am I'm not giving much a recap? The comic is mostly jokes and every SINGLE THING is not serious. Even when it feels like it show. You want to know how the comics ends?
The first mini ends with them getting together because reasons, Becka will still be an immature idiot in the sequel. and yes I'm going to cover it.
A good example of a better set up, is of course shonen action series Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach, look both have issues but the first chapter does set up the world and how death, AND spirits work in the setting, giving the stakes, and also we know what happens when they screw up.
