Maps make it possible to bring the history of an area to life. Tithe, Enclosure & Estate maps & #Plans are popular @ExploreThePast for tracing the history of houses; mapping boundary changes & observing land use change over time https://t.co/FXyemU4ilO #Plans #ExploreYourArchive
A photo of St John the Baptist, Claines, on the feast day of St John the Baptist. The old photo is from the Whinfield collection of glass slides (he was organist here). The other was taken today from a visit we did to discuss a potential heritage project
We have thousands of amazing maps in our collections. How can you know what we have? We have a map index which can be searched online, so you can find out what maps we have of your town/village & then come in & see them when we reopen https://t.co/NRIUpOWn61
Just up from our usual home in @TheHiveWorcs is the Five Ways Junction, & the former Five Ways Hotel (now @FranciniCafe). Angie looked into the history of this site through the documents in the archives (thanks to @WorCityHeritage for the photo)
