Tear Ring Saga was Shouzou Kaga's (FE's creator) next game after leaving IS. The game released for the PS1, which would lead to Nintendo suing the publisher of the game. In an attempt to avoid a lawsuit, the name was changed and some redesigns happened.

In Fates, Niles and Peri both have something blocking their right eye (an eye-patch and hair respectively). Despite not being able to see it, they both have a right eye, with Peri's being green for an unknown reason.

Yusuke Kozaki was the character designer of FE Awakening and Fates. One of the reasons he was chosen for Awakening is because of his work on the No More Heroes series, and the success of said series outside of Japan.

In the game files of The Sacred Stones, two unused battle portraits were found of a Bishop and a Sage. These are believed to have been Ewan and Knoll respectively, though in the final game these characters cannot be these classes.

According to a "Nintendo Everything" article, Tokyo Mirage Sessions # FE was originally proposed as a crossover between Fire Emblem and Pokémon, though it was rejected because the Pokémon Company had already proposed a game that would become Pokémon Conquest

In Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, The swords "Alondite" and "Ettard" had their names swapped outside of the Japanese release of the game. This error occurred because in POR's game files, Ettard was called "ALONDITE", confusing localizers.

Beck's horse "Bonnie" (FE12), Sophie's horse "Avel" (Fates), and Marianne's horse "Dorte" (Three Houses), are the only horses in the series that are named, despite many wyverns and pegasi being named before and after these games released.

In Fates, the capturable characters Candace and Nichol have unused critical cut-in portraits, as well as placeholder support data. This suggests that they at one point served a bigger role in the game before they became capturable characters.

Brigid's bow, Yewfelle, was originally named Ichaival, with it being original to FE. In 2013, an anonymous user edited the "List of mythological objects" Wikipedia page and added the weapon to the list, which resulted in it being added to the game Smite (1/2)

In the Sacred Stones "May 31st, 2004" prototype, Chp 6 was a completely different map that was later reused for Eirika's Chp 11 map. In this early map, Novala was simply named "Evil" (イビル), and the saveable civilians were instead killed by the boss (1/2)
