FFXVI seems to have summoning of summons by people, similar to FFXIV. Summons are called "Eikons" by characters in the trailer. We see a fight between Shiva and Titan, and one character gets crushed under a rock.

One of them questions him and he replies that "Our kind do not question orders, we follow them" suggesting that they're mercenaries of some kind. We see a battlefield including Chocobo riders, the fighters seem to have tattoos on their arm.
