Psychedelically surreal in its own right, the film Barbarella is a trip and a half. Visually stunning and a plot that confused me so much I had to watch it again with my wife to make sure I hadn't imagined some of what I saw.

Selkies, seals that shed thr skin to become human, are intensely alluring to landfolk. Many stories tell of a man stealing a selkie's skin and making her his bride. After some years the she would find her skin and return to the sea taking her children with her.
