Aralez, also called arlez or yaralez, are winged dog-like spirits in Armenian mythology that descend to lick the wounds of dead heroes in order to resurrect them. In some stories it's only heroes who have been killed by traitors. Some sources say they lived on the Mount Ararat.
Vanara are a race of forest dwelling ape- like people who help Rama defeat Ravana, the rakshasa I covered earlier. Vanara may be similar to other simian fairies such as the Caucasus Almas, Australian Yowie, New Zealander Maero, the Guadalcanal Giants & Malaysian Hantu Jarang Gigi
Suvannamaccha is a beautiful mermaid in Southeast Asian mythology who tries to stop the god Hanuman before falling in love with him & having a son with him, Macchanu.
Jiaoren (flood dragon people or shark people) from Chinese mythology are merfolk who lived in fresh & salt water.
Amphinome (she of the surrounding pasture) is the Nereid, daughters of the god Nereus and the Oceanid Doris, who feeds Poseidon's flock.
There are actually 2 fairies named Ampelos. The 2nd 1 is the more well known. He was a satyr, a type of nature spirit that I will cover later, and Dionysus' lover.
Alp (plural alpen), related to the German word for elf "elbe," sit on people's chests while they sleep causing sleep paralysis &/or sleep apnea.
Alkonost is a woman-headed bird in Slavic folklore. Fairies who are part bird or part animal in general are very, very common. The Alkonost is sometimes mentioned alongside the Gamayun of Russia, which is similar & I will cover later.
Alberich (elf king) is appears in many Norse & Germanic myths. Sometimes he is king of the elves or the dwarfs. Sometimes he's even a human sorcerer. His name suggests connections to Oberon, a British fairy king, & Andvari, a dwarf in Norse myth.
Aethra is of one of the Oceanids from Greco- Roman mythology. She is sometimes called the wife of Atlas and mother of Hyas, the legendary ancestor of the Hyantes or Boeotians, the Pleiades & the Hyades, instead of Pleione, another Oceanid.
