Yesterday we saw this beauty, a Portuguese man o' war (Physalia Physalis). Despite its appearance, this is not a true jellyfish but a siphonophore, which is not a single multicellular organism, but a colonial organism made up of many specialized animals living in symbiosis.

Look at those whiskers! Atlantic grey seals have super sensitive whiskers with over 1000 nerve endings in the base of the whiskers. They can pick up trails left by fish in the water and therefore hunt using their whiskers. #seal #whiskers #StartOfSealBreedingSeaso
Fabulous light on our shearwater trip this evening. Lots of lovely peeps who didn’t mind a bit of spray in the pursuit of wildlife and wonder. We saw Peregrines, seals, shearwaters and a couple of puffins to mention but a few.
