About the grapes and suitcase. These are two different traditions:

1- Eating 12 grapes in New Years to bring good fortune and prosperity for the year that arrives.

2- If you wish to travel in the year that arrives you should walk around the block carrying a suitcase.

We do light fireworks in New Years indeed, and thankfully each year the awareness to not use loud ones increases 🙏

Paso Garúa surely is a reference to the tango "Garúa". It is actually an Argentinian composition and made popular by Goyeneche's (an iconic Argentinian tango singer) interpretation but it became very popular in Uruguay too.
