In a Latvian fairy tale, Bulbulis the Bird, three princes set out on a quest for the magical bird Bulbulis, but only the youngest succeeds. Seething with envy and jealousy, the older brothers cast the youngest into the sea and take the bird for themselves.

In Slavic mythology Stratim is the mother of all birds in the world. She is an assistant of the god of wind, Stribog. Just one movement of her wing may create a huge wave in the sea. Also, her screams can cause storms.

The story of the Children of Lir is one of the best known tales of Ireland. This story tells of Lir and his wife Aobh and their four children called Aodh, Fionnghuala, Fiachra and Conn. Lir's wife died and he married again.

In Swedish folklore Gloson is a large, dangerous boar with burning eyes, it is said to inhabit cemeteries and the surrounding area. It is believed to be a folkloric remnant of Freyr’s boar, Gullinbursti.

In Belarusian mythology Hajoŭki are the grandaughters of the forest guardian Hajun. They are young ladies, very puckish. They love all things alive. If any animal from the forest is hurt they come to Hajoŭkі for help because they are natural healers.
