Japanese animator Kihachirō Kawamoto brings his unmistakable Bunraku sensibility to the Grimm tale 'Dornröschen'. This film was co-produced by the Jiří Trnka Studio in Prague. Kawamoto studied puppet animation under Trnka in 1963.
