Its the last day of #YorkshireFossilsWeek! There are no gaps left on our geological map, but fear not, we have one time period left: the Pleistocene!
This lasted from 2.5 million to 12000 years ago and covers a time of environmental change often called the Ice Age

Today we are taking you later into the Carboniferous - the environment has shifted and Yorkshire is now part of an enormous tropical river delta.
We are so excited to share our new logo! Designed by @FossilsH' Dr Jed Atkinson, it combines the iconic white rose of Yorkshire with common Carboniferous fossils of the Yorkshire Dales! The petals are productid brachiopods and the rose centre is a cross section through a coral.
