NES Wario’s Woods replicates two older pieces of Wario art in sprite form. Those being the cover art from Mario & Wario and Wario’s iconic Super Mario Land 2 artwork.

A lot of japanese Super Mario Land 2 print media likes to portray the vampire mook Kurokyura as a right-hand man of sorts for Wario.

I like that concept, makes me wish Kurokyura shows up again some day, in something Wario relevant.

I always liked to headcanon that Spiked Koopa was a mole, send by Bowser to pose as part of Syrup's crew, in a scheme to get the golden Peach statue for himself.

It's a fun thought that, alongside Wario, Mario and Syrup, Bowser was also involved in the fight over the statue.
