Land and Ware characters are just not a thing in Mario games.

Waluigi is in spin-off limbo.

Baby Wario took 14 years to get a second appearance.

Wanda and the Wario's Woods cast are in retro limbo.

For some reason every Wario-relevant character has it rough in some way.

Sal Out is my personal minor Wario character that really doesn't do much, yet I adore and keep wanting more of her anyways.

Both Mario's Picross 2 and Mario's Super Picross emulate Wario Land artworks in sprite form.

Wario as a series, be it Land or Ware, is very fond of the Game & Watch series and loves to pay homage to them.

I have been a big fan of Toad and Wanda as a duo ever since learning of official sources that claim the fairy in Wario's Woods to be her.

I love the concept of the out-there Toad vs Wario rivalry and bringing Wario's enemy from Woods' spiritual predecessor into it as well.

The Badge Arcade's fixation on Ashley, while the rest of the WarioWare cast got almost always ignored, rubbed me the wrong way to begin with, but the not-Penny that was part of the fake Ashley game Crazy Galaxy was the worst of it for me.

Why not just use Penny?

There was a cancelled Nintendo figure line, seemingly from Toybiz, which would have included a Wario Land based Wario figure, even including an alternate hat to make him Dragon Wario.

Sad it was canned, but we do at least have pics and concept art of it.
