Great job using crosshatching.👍
I did OK painting the attached truck in but struggled with tone on my second attempt using digital hatching brushes.

A simple with colours sampled from photo reference.
Only two brushes used: gouache brush and ball pen.
Painting is to be used in a military history.

I really didn't think the manikin would be able to make a decent folded arms pose.
I was wrong!
The key is to move the shoulders forward first.
The rest is easy.
This really is an exceptional artist reference app.

Spotted this wonderful 1850 photo of an old who fought at the Battle of Waterloo,
Decided a digital scribble would best capture the weatherbeaten, but still very much alert aged warrior.
He’d seen some action, wish I’d met him.
