I learned how to draw hands via Naoko Takeuchi.
Sometimes I wonder if that's a good influence for hands or not :P
Also, I love how Yuri started out as a damsel-in-distress but quickly became her own spunky, tough girl with an independent streak. Talk about character development!
She also has that eye makeup to give the impression of her non-human traits, at least from far away. Her eyes are always kinda wide with the prominent lower eyelids
Another artistic liberty I like to do is give Rie the fox mask whenever I get it. Even with SCVI's races, I could not get her looking right, so I went back to what I did for her in SCV. It's just fun and it's noncanonical (in case you wonder if her with a mask means something)
Cassie hasn't had a chance to really speak with her dialect (which is fairly mild but she's still got that Scottish bit to her) due to mostly speaking in French atm, but here are some very Cassie lines from the comic
