Giant turtle may be a nod to Gamera or Kamoebas, simply due to the fact it is a giant turtle kaiju. Its ankylosaur-like features also bring to mind Anguirus.
Concepts for monsters were made for Godzilla: The Series but were never used. Many were created during pre-production of the show, and were used in promotional images and the opening credits.
Robo-Yeti is most likely an homage to Mechani-Kong from King Kong Escapes.
Megapede and Cicada are an homage to Battra. Zilla Junior also fought Megapede in a carnival with a Ferris wheel and underwater, very similar to Godzilla's two brawls with Battra in an amusement park and beneath the waves in the Philippines in Godzilla vs. Mothra.
Multi-legged monster bears a somewhat resemblance to El Gusano Gigante, a caterpillar-esque monster from the 1998 show; Godzilla: The Series.

Meganulon is based on the actual giant prehistoric dragonfly genus Meganeura, which lived during the Carboniferous period.

Optimus Primal takes design cues from his 10th Anniversary figure. Most prominently, he possesses that toy's characteristic grey feet and antennae, mechanical segments on his abdomen, red knees, and blue chest highlights.

In the early promotional trailer/test footage for The Transformers: The Movie, Ultra Magnus can be seen in alternate Autobot City sequences in his toy's original Diaclone color scheme, indicating the final coloration may have been a late change to the toy.

Breakdown is, of course, a continuity transplant of Prime Breakdown. Mairghread Scott confirmed from the get-go that he is Knock Out's Conjunx Endura, likely a wink at fans who believed that Prime Knock Out's relationship with Breakdown.
