Gargoyles #1: oh look, it's the series bible
Coldstone's appearances are limited, but this is continuity. On his own he's in a middle ground between Demona and Golaith. Tempted to indifference, talked out of checking out of the "Gargoyle way" in the cartoon. Clan first for him
You know what's really funny in hindsight, this was a Disney's #Gargoyles comic book cover / trade paperback cover years before Disney buying Lucasfilm was a thought on anybody's mind #StarWars
Listen Demona, that was better than you deserved. So much better
2014 - Expelled From Paradise
"Expelled From Paradise was a great movie dunking on planned societies and also the fantasy of Ready Player One, and also paranoia. The robot who just wanted to launch a rocket was a pretty good human, actually. It even had a hat." Me, 2021
2016 - Snow White With the Red Hair
Ah. So far I like a lot of shoujo, don't I?
BONES delivers a pretty and endearing adaptation of Sorata Akizuki's romance manga. He's a prince, she's an herbalist, they both grow as people as their love does. Chicken soup for the otaku soul
2018 - Violet Evergarden
Kyoto Animation's strongest work, and that's saying a lot. It excels at everything it tries. It's about how one person's life can touch so many others. It champions empathy and flexes the art form to communicate emotion. Nothing else like it out there
2021 - Sailor Moon Eternal
You can't really separate the parts, they're one package. It's a series in movie format. This drew on the classic manga to deliver the best update to the old 1990s show to date. The coming-of-age existential crisis arcs are / were solid. It was nice.
Oh, "Nana" is being remastered for HD. Is that new? I think it is #Otakon2022
You never quite finish with your "oh, it's that voice!" moments......John Rhys-Davies was Thor and Macbeth (Gargoyles) in the 90s
