it was a perfect match, the face, the pointy ears, THE FLOOF, everything! i turned my sona from a wolf into a sammy and i'm never changing back!! ^^

For some more examples, the GBA Pokemon games used hue (aquamarine grass, green trees) for contrast rather than value difference.

The DS Pokemon games had dark trees with an interesting yellow -> blue gradient from top to bottom.
