This album in the British Museum was just brought to my attention but I have not seen (seems to be pith paper). I know I have seen each of these before - the artist imitated the compositions of earlier 'decorative' & 'scientific' botanical watercolours. https://t.co/Hs5xJUcAAH

Would a historically accurate short movie of the arrival of Wang Atong to London in 1775 and his reception at the Royal Society (same time as Omai) & portrait by Reynolds be an interesting way to explore Chinese go-betweens in British 18-19th c. making of science? Am I too bold?
