Things are slowly coming together! ~

....Now just need to figure out how to do clothes shading and do some small tweaks here and there.

I redid the eyes and some of the colours in the hair this time around...we'll see if it was a good call or not overtime.

and let us not forget what it took to get there for sure... I'm still self-conscious bout just how long things took.

But at the same time, the original design's problem ultimately came down to it being rushed and me not having the skill to convey what was on my mind...

The downside to this process is that it took so long that in the time it took me to finish colouring it, I could have completed several traditional artworks. And that I did.

So while I have eight years of lineart experience, I have even less with colouring.

growing up I often preferred colour pencils over brushes since it felt easier to be precise with details.

When I began to take art more seriously I coloured digitally by scanning traditional artwork and tracing over them digitally; first with a mouse and later with a tablet.

I did my best with the shading for the clothes (misaligned chest shadow aside).

Im personally unsure if I got it right. The shading, for better or for worse, came out looking more 3D-ish than I imagined it would 🤔 (given that im trying to go for soft shading)

Large progress update!

Hair shading... 70%

Legs... 20%

Jacket... hopefully sometime this week

and some new progress! Clothing and Joints added!

Small break for now, will see if I do some more adjustments tonight or continue tomorrow (also don't mind the colouring issues with the orange colouring on the shirt)

Alright! So thats enough for today, got some progress in, and despite the rough start... things are looking to be coming along smoothly in the coming days!

Not gonna lie... The Sonic Adventure design for Super Sonic is still one of my favourite Super Sonic designs.

The reflective look, the angular narrower eyes and stoic expression...

Im rediscovering my love for the Sonic Adventure 1 soundtrack... for me its one of my fav soundtracks (next to SCD and SA2)

One thing I do like bout SA1's tracks... is the 'dream-like' quality they have. They are excellent to listen to while multi-tasking for sure!
