The parallel between Japanese Shinto religion and Nawa/Aztec religion is awe-inspiring.

The Shikigami are the lesser spirits from Japanese culture that were cut out of paper to be invoked.

The Chanehkeh were the lesser spirits from Aztec culture and were also cut out of paper.
