So far, @Kickstarter orders are 39 copies of the ABC and 38 of the Colouring Book - it might not sound a lot but it’s amazing to me and 20 days still left to order!

- helmet ✔️
Within the limitations of Playmobil, this looks pretty close: red (horsehair?) plume; nose-piece; eye-holes above attached cheek-pieces; and it’s bronze. I *think* this is ok.
This has taken a while to complete as all my reference books are currently in storage, and trying to find online images is a minefield of reproductions and ‘molon labe’ tattoos, but these paintings ⬇️ are, I think, either from an Osprey book or Peter Connolly, both I trust.
According to this website https://t.co/unYCwNEU2f about hoplites, it seems that’s what Ares is dressed as: he has the cuirass. Greaves, helmet, (sword and spear - next post). I *think* the blue ‘shorts’ is an attempt at an undertunic… but then there’s also a white tunic? 🤔
- a rose 🤔✔️
Ok I thought this was a bit modern and crass, ‘love and beauty’ with a side of a box of chocolates, but actually the rose was in fact closely associated with Aphrodite, and with Adonis, her adopted child/lover 😬
But in art she’s most often seen with myrtle wreaths.
You want Iliad Comix? I got Iliad Comix 😁

Hello #VisibleWomen , I’m Jenks, a teacher and illustrator in the UK, who is often assumed to be a bloke.
I started off drawing stickmen versions of the myths and ancient texts I teach my students, and have slowly branched out into colour and archaeological illustration🏺🖊
Happy Mothers’ Day to all the mums!❤️🥰❤️
