I've noticed corners of the media inserting LGBTQ+ into their resurges of established IPs. That's fine and all, but...

...coming from a straight guy, it feels tacked on. Instead of pushing it onto already existing characters, try creating new ones with that identity. Examples:

Beauty pageants are bullshit.

There are all kinds of beauty! For example, these four would not be allowed to compete in Miss Universe. I say they don't need to. They're ALL beautiful!!!
