It's also worth noting that the Sword of Bravery has been, in some form, cleverly referenced in Gustav's Valentine's alt with how he carries around an Axe crafted out of a large branch.

As the Order searched for a way to rid of the curse, the father and son were given a moment to talk.

While it seems clear Gustav is still distancing himself, he brings up a memento from Alfonse's childhood. A stick that later we find out to be the “Sword of Bravery”.

We start with why people think so.

After what seemed to be a risky plan, he scolds Alfonse for it.

While yes, the diversion worked— he's still right. If he and his knights hadn't arrived on time, Alfonse and Sharena would've died. Askr would've lost its future rulers.
