While it can operate in either the atmosphere or in space, the GP01 must be configured for each operation, with even the core fighter needing to be replaced accordingly. Otherwise, the unit will suffer from a lack of balance and become nearly impossible to pilot.
The unit kinda has Chobam Armour, appearing in the Rebellion Manga. It is a series of heavy amour plates attached to the unit's chassis. This enhances the unit's defences at the cost of increasing its weight tremendously.

The only known pilot is Kou Uraki, a young adult who graduated from Nijmegen Military Academy and assigned to the Torrington Base in Australia, where he spent his days as a test pilot.
