Through the entire DOOM series, the chaingun is actually a minigun.

In DOOM and DOOM II, the chaingun's pickup sprite has a single muzzle, despite the held sprite having 6.
In DOOM II, the Chaingunner is shown holding an ammunition belt with his chaingun having 4 barrels, not 6. However the pickup sprite suggests it's magazine fed.

however it makes its victims covered in piss on the outside instead of inside

In "High School of The Dead", one of the protaginists uses a pump action shotgun. The pump is referred to as a slide, the shotgun cannot pump when out of rounds, and shells are called bullets.
