When in 1930 Ruth M. Anderson returned from the last of her photographic expeditions, her career at the museum shifted yet again. She now focused on the study of Spanish costume, and in 1954 she was named Curator of Costume.

#TBT to the Hispanic Society's exhibition of Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida's paintings in 1909.

From this exhibition Huntington had the opportunity to acquire some of Sorolla’s best works, including After the Bath (1908), Beaching the Boat (1903), and Sea Idyl (1908).
