I wanted to@post another by the painter Hiroshi Kobayashi but couldn’t choose so I decided on the easy option, post all four!

When I was selling books I’m ashamed to say I went off her work due to volume I sold. I saw too much. Ok now though
I post quite a lot of Guido Borelli’s paintings because they seem to fit in my site with ease. I find them heartwarming and uplifting

Marianne North (1830-1890) British (Hastings) painting wasn’t her first choice , singing was but her voice failed and she devoted herself to painting flowers. After the death of her mother in 1855 she constantly travelled with her father ( The MP for Hastings)

I’m going for an all four by Nicholas Verrall because they feel summery and bright and it’s such a dismal foggy day here making my timeline a brighter place. There will be more to see at The Catto Gallery.
The third of these paintings is ‘Once Upon a Time ‘ by Edward Reginald Frampton 1872-1923) His Father was a Stained Glass artist and he himself a Muralist.
This is so cute and of it’s time ‘The Kings Daughters in a Basket by Charles Folkard (1878-1963) from British Folk Tales 1920s. Firstly this illustrator was a conjurer who went on to create ‘Teddy Tail’ a popular cartoon character who ran in the Daily Mail newspapers for decades

Our first Illustrations today are by English children’s book Author and Illustrator Nicola Bayley. I first discovered her in the 1970s because I was given ‘The Patchwork Cat’ by her Captions 1 and 3 2 is from The Mousehole Cat 3 The Tyger Voyage
