Here’s a funky idea! Personnel pods on Harriers! Called EXINT, the pods would fit under the wings of the Harrier, allowing it to carry two men per pod, or the equivalent weight of two men in cargo.

Bit of a story... imagine it's march 1983, four IV squadron GR.3s are on a strike recon mission into Czechoslovakia, when they spot aircraft ahead. They move up to VID the formation, a group of Czech Su-7s, the Harriers engage the Sukhois. Here's some shots of the dogfight.
